WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (36-15-7) find themselves winless in four games (0-2-2) for the first time all season after dropping a 4-2 decision to the Hershey Bears (27-23-8) Friday night on home ice.
The Penguins surrendered three goals in the middle frame and fell behind 3-0 heading to the third period, but were able to claw their way back into the game on the backs of tallies from Aidan McDonough and Rafael Harvey-Pinard in the final frame.
Ultimately, it was too little too late for the Penguins as the Bears held on to get the two points with Bogdan Trineyev sealing the deal with an empty net tally with 1:14 left to play.
Three goals in a span of 5:37 in the middle frame from Andrew Cristall, Sonny Milano and Ryan Chesley allowed the Bears to open up a lead they were able to hold on to despite a heavy Penguins' attack in the final 20 minutes.
