After negotiations between the ECHL and PHPA carried on throughout the day and into the evening on Saturday, multiple sources confirm to InsideAHLHockey.com that an updated proposal will be going to a player vote in the near future.
If approved, ECHL players would return to play on December 31st - though one source indicated a return to play in good faith could occur before a vote and approval.
Among the key improvements is a 20% salary increase across the board for all players, which I'm told was a major sticking point with the players.
It's important to note that nothing is officially agreed upon at this time, and things can change in an instant.
But for now, major progress toward a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that has both sides feeling that things are trending toward a resolution.
Updates to come when they are available, so stay tuned here and on Twitter -> @TonyAndrock.
The PHPA initiated a player-strike on December 26, with all 13 games on Friday and 15 games on Saturday postponed.
