ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The American Hockey League (AHL) announced this afternoon that tonight's game between the Hershey Bears and Lehigh Valley Phantoms has been postponed due to the league's COVID-19 protocols affecting the Phantoms. Three hours later, the league also announced Sunday's Phantoms game against Binghamton would also not be played as scheduled. No makeup date has been determined yet.

Multiple sources have confirmed to Inside AHL Hockey that the Phantoms have at least one suspected positive case. The hope is that it is an isolated case that hasn't spread, but this is a first report to a developing story.

It marks the third game this season postponed due to the league's protocols affecting the Phantoms. Inside AHL Hockey previously learned the first two postponements were due to what were later deemed to be false-positive test results.

Lehigh Valley has three games that need makeup dates scheduled: Wednesday March 17th's home game vs Binghamton, Friday March 19th's road game vs W-B/Scranton and Saturday, April 10th's home game vs Hershey.

The Phantoms game in Newark, New Jersey on Wednesday, March 10th that was suspended after one period of play due to COVID-19 protocols affecting the Binghamton Devils has been rescheduled and will be played on Monday, April 26th resuming where it left off - at the start of the 2nd period with the game tied 1-1.
