WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (46-17-9) concluded the regular season in style Saturday night, putting their pedal to the medal to the tune of an 8-0 drubbing of a Rochester Americans team in need of a point to clinch the final playoff spot in the 23-team 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs field.
Rutger McGroarty (two goals, assist), Tristan Broz (one goal, two assists), Owen Pickering (goal, two assists) and Atley Calvert (goal, two assists) all had three point nights for the Penguins while five other players had two-point efforts in what was a total team effort.
Sergei Murashov recorded a 27-save shutout for his 4th clean-sheet in the AHL this season to finish the regular season with a record of 24-9-4.
