HERSHEY, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins used a hot start Sunday in Hershey to begin their preseason slate with a 6-3 win over the Bears.

The Penguins jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening 10:30 and never really looked back, putting together a dominant opening 40 minutes that saw Wilkes-Barre/Scranton accumulate a 5-1 lead while holding Hershey to just six shots on goal.

Hershey tallied a pair of goals in the third period, but that's as close as they would get before Brayden Edwards (one goal, two assists) capped a three-point night with an empty net tally.

Mikhail Ilyin (goal, assist), Brent Johnson (two assists) and Atley Calvert (two assists) all recorded multi-point efforts.
