WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins played their hearts out in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals Sunday night.

Needing a win to force a Game 7, the Penguins took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a power play goal from Aidan McDonough and carried the play through large portions of the contest.

But as they have all postseason long, the Toronto Marlies found a way.

Easton Cowan tied the game at 1-1 in the middle frame, and Marlies goaltender Artur Akhtyamov stood on his head as both he and Penguins goaltender Sergei Murashov went save-for-save deep into overtime before former Penguins forward Alex Nylander lifted the Marlies to the 2026 Calder Cup Finals with his game-winning goal 13:44 into overtime.
