2019 AHL All Star Capsules: North Division

Coach: Benoit Groulx, Syracuse

This will be Groulx’s first All-Star coaching appearance; third season as head coach of the Crunch; lifetime record of 104-67-12.

Mackenzie Blackwood, G, BinghamtonStats: 15 GP, 6-7-1, 2.69 GAA, .911 Save Percentage

First All-Star selection; has not appeared in an AHL contest since December 14 th due to current recall to New Jersey; ranks in the top 20 among AHL goaltenders in goals against and save percentage.

Connor Ingram, G, SyracuseStats: 14 GP, 9-5-0, 2.44 GAA, .920 Save Percentage

First All-Star selection; tied with Iowa’s Kaapo Kahkonen for most shutouts in the league with 4; ranks fourth in the AHL in save percentage and seventh in goals against; has not played since December 21st due to injury.

Drake Batherson, F, BellevilleStats: 21 GP, 8 goals, 17 assists, 25 points

First All-Star selection; Belleville’s second leading scorer; ranks fourth among AHL rookies in scoring, tied for third in rookie assists; made NHL debut in November, picked up 8 points in 17 games for Ottawa.

Alex Belzile, F, LavalStats: 35 GP, 6 goals, 20 assists, 26 points

First All-Star selection; Laval’s leading scorer; ranks in top 20 among AHL skaters in assists; has six multi- point outings for the Rocket this season.

Reid Boucher, F, UticaStats: 25 GP, 17 goals, 14 assists, 31 points

Second All-Star selection; Comets leading scorer; ranks in the top 20 among all skaters in points, tied for second in the league in goals; has made one appearance with Vancouver, going scoreless.

Cory Conacher, F, SyracuseStats: 27 GP, 13 goals, 23 assists, 36 points

Third All Star selection; tied for the Crunch team lead in scoring with Carter Verhaeghe; tied for third in the AHL with 23 assists; named AHL Player of the Month for November; had a 12-game point streak from November 3 rd -December 7 th ; has one appearance with Tampa Bay, going scoreless.

Zac Dalpe, F, ClevelandStats: 28 GP, 14 goals, 13 assists, 27 points

First All-Star selection; tied with Nathan Gerbe for the Monsters team lead in scoring; ranks in the league top 20 in goals; has one assist in one appearance for Columbus.

Trevor Moore, F, TorontoStats: 27 GP, 17 goals, 7 assists, 24 points

First All-Star selection; leads Marlies and is tied for second in the AHL in goals scored; is currently on recall to the Maple Leafs, where he has two assists in three appearances.

Lawrence Pilut, D, RochesterStats: 16 GP, 3 goals, 19 assists, 22 points

First All-Star selection; ranks fourth on the Amerks in scoring; ranks in the AHL’s top 10 in defenseman scoring, tied for third among defensemen in assists; tied for second in the AHL with Chicago’s Gage Quinney with a +19 rating; is currently on recall to Buffalo, where he has 3 assists in 9 games.

John Quenneville, F, BinghamtonStats: 19 GP, 9 goals, 10 assists, 19 points

Second All-Star selection; tied for third among Binghamton skaters in scoring; has five multi-point outings, including a 2-goal game on November 14 th in Syracuse; is currently on recall to New Jersey, where he is scoreless in 15 appearances.

Zach Redmond, D, RochesterStats: 34 GP, 15 goals, 13 assists, 28 points

Second All-Star selection; ranks third on the Amerks in scoring; ranks second among AHL defensemen in points, is first among defensemen in goals and power play goals, tied for second in power play points; leads all AHL skaters in game winning goals; has 6 multi point games, including 2 2-goal games.

Calle Rosen, D, TorontoStats: 30 GP, 2 goals, 19 assists, 21 points

First All-Star selection; seventh on the Marlies in scoring; tied for third among AHL defensemen in assists; has five multi-point games.

2019 AHL All Star Capsules: Atlantic Division

Coach: Mike Vellucci, Charlotte

This will be Vellucci’s first All-Star appearance; second season as head coach of the Checkers; lifetime record of 72-34-7.

Sam Montembault, G, SpringfieldStats: 23 GP, 11-7-5, 3.02 GAA, .901 Save Percentage

First All-Star appearance; ranks fourth in the AHL in saves (588) and fifth in minutes played (1305:17); started season with personal five game winning streak, including a shutout of Lehigh Valley on October 12th; hit the 40 save mark in 4 starts, including a season high 41 against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on December 12th.

Vitek Vanecek, G, HersheyStats: 17 GP, 8-7-2, 2.64 GAA, .908 Save Percentage

First All-Star appearance; ranks in top 20 in AHL in goals against average; stopped a season high 40 shots in a win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on October 17th; lone shutout came against on October 20th in Charlotte.

Sebastian Aho, D, BridgeportStats: 34 GP, 3 goals, 21 assists, 24 points

First All-Star appearance; ranks third on the Sound Tigers in scoring; tied for fourth among AHL defensemen in points, tied for third among defensemen in assists; notched three assists in a game twice (10/27 at Hartford, 12/21 at Charlotte).

Henrik Borgstrom, F, SpringfieldStats: 24 GP, 5 goals, 17 assists, 22 points

First All-Star appearance; leads first year Thunderbird skaters in scoring; ranks in top 20 among first year AHL skaters in points; made a splash in his Springfield debut, with a goal and three assists in a win over Lehigh Valley; is currently on recall to Florida, where he has three goals and one assist in 10 games for the Panthers.

Trevor Carrick, D, CharlotteStats: 36 GP, 6 goals, 16 assists, 22 points

Second All-Star appearance; ranks in top 20 among AHL blueliners in points; tied for 2nd among defensemen in game winning goals (3) and minor penalties (23), tied for 3rd among defensemen in power play assists (10); had a season high 3 assists against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on November 17th.

Greg Carey, F, Lehigh ValleyStats: 35 GP, 17 goals, 19 assists, 36 points

First All-Star selection; Phantoms leading scorer; ranks in the AHL top 20 in points; has 3 2-goal games (10/6 vs. Bridgeport, 11/9 vs. Springfield, 11/23 vs. Hershey) and 1 3 assist game (12/2 vs. Toronto); has 8 multi point games; had an 8-game point streak from November 9th-30th (7 goals, 4 assists).

Michael Dal Colle, F, BridgeportStats: 28 GP, 16 goals, 12 assists, 28 points

First All-Star selection; leads the Sound Tigers in scoring; named AHL Player of the Week for December 10-16 after notching his first career hat trick in Providence on December 14th, then followed with a two-goal game against Springfield the next day; is currently on his second recall of the season to the Islanders, where he has one assist in six games.

Ryan Fitzgerald, F, ProvidenceStats: 36 GP, 7 goals, 19 assists, 26 points

First All-Star selection; leads Bruins in scoring; had a 7-game point streak from November 21st-December 5th (4 goals, 6 assists); 7 multi-point games.

John Gilmour, D, HartfordStats: 37 GP, 10 goals, 14 assists, 24 points

Second All-Star selection; tied for second on Wolfpack in scoring; tied for 4th among AHL defensemen in points; tied for 2nd among defensemen in goals and game winning goals and tied for 3rd in defensemen power play points; has 2 2-goal games (11/14 vs. Bridgeport, 12/30 vs. Springfield).

Janne Kuokkanen, F, CharlotteStats: 31 GP, 11 goals, 18 assists, 29 points

First All-Star selection; second among Checkers skaters in scoring; has 2 2-goal games (10/5 vs. Rochester, 12/7 vs. Hartford); 6 multi-point outings; had points in 7 straight games from October 26th-November 11th (3 goals, 6 assists).

Colin McDonald, F, Lehigh ValleyStats: 34 GP, 3 goals, 11 assists, 14 points

Third All-Star selection; playing captain for the Eastern Conference; most experienced among Eastern skaters; one multi point outing (2 assists vs. Hartford on October 24th).

Ethan Prow, D, Wilkes-Barre/ScrantonStats: 37 GP, 10 goals, 13 assists, 23 points

First All-Star selection; third among Penguin skaters in scoring; ranks in top 10 among AHL blueliners in scoring, tied for 2nd in goals, and 2nd in shots taken; had 3 assists against Bridgeport on November 4th; had 2 goals against Bridgeport on December 19th; 4 multi-point outings.
